The bang bang club review

Image
The bang bang club By: Palesa Chidi The story is about a young photojournalist who visits a black township where a lot of violence is taking place. He takes picture of the people in the township telling stories of their daily lives and struggle. Ryan Phillipe, Malin Akerman, Taylor Kitsch, Frank Rautenbach and Alf Khumalo starred in the movie directed by Steven Silver. The movie was released in 2010 at the Toronto international film festival. It focuses on the road to democracy in South Africa when Nelson Mandela was released from prison and the war between the IFP and the ANC during 1990 to 1994. The bang bang club takes pictures of the township struggle to sell newspapers. They became friends on one of the scenes in the township.  Their best selling story was when they got a picture of a man being  burnt alive. I would not recommend this movie to sensitive viewers and kids. It contains...

Journalism principles

JOURNALISM PRINCIPLES THAT CAN BE APPLIED TO DIGITAL MARKETING AND WHY?”  By: Palesa Chidi Over the years, marketing has been a process which was long. Some companies did not have an online presence and those that did had no audience. Even people back in the olden days did not have access to technology therefore they could not see the advertisements of products on television or on the internet. The companies marketed their products on radio which could be accessed by everyone at that time. Nowadays, digital marketing has been introduced and has made this world a better place. Majority of the people have access to television and the internet so companies or/and small businesses can have an online presence that people can easily accesses. In our country, unemployment is one of the most crucial and pressing issues. The unemployed can create their small businesses online and expand later online by creating a website that people can see and follow. Rather than not doing anyth...

Whose fault is it? May 03, 2018 WHOSE FAULT IS IT By: Palesa Chidi Recently in our country we have seen a lot of cases or rather accusations whereby men are said to have raped, murdered or assaulted women. The women being their wives, girlfriends, sisters, mothers etc. Most of these cases never get anywhere because our justice system is a failure. Is it our fault that we are getting killed? Is it our fault that we get raped because we wear short skirts and tight pants?  Is it our fault that we get assaulted because we can’t ‘supposedly’ defend ourselves like men can? These are the questions the we as women constantly ask ourselves, but I guess we will never really get the answers. On the 14th of February, valentine’s day 2013, 0scar Pistorius killed his girlfriend, River Steenkamp because he thought that she was an intruder. Oscar was then sentenced to 6 years in prison even though the minimum sentence for murder in south Africa is 15 years. In the e...
“I have learnt that I don’t actually want what I think I want, unless God wants it for me” Life is full of lessons, both good and bad. The complications are exhausting gosh. I went through a rough patch and I am only 18 years old. A lot of things happened in my life, and mind you I’m talking about the negative side of things. But in order to get my life back in line I told myself to focus and all that started with letting go of what was hurting me because I deserve the best. I said to myself, my happiness is always going to come back. I should just do what I can today because it will always be enough. For my peers who feel like giving up, you are not a failure; you are not a burden. Life is full of lessons so don’t be afraid to fall. Interrupt anxiety with gratitude. Oh, and always remember to be nice and smile because inner beauty and peace doesn’t rinse off. Take time to evaluate yourself and learn to love yourself because you are great, you are able and you are everything ...
