Soshanguve residents were yet again treated to good food, fun and games during an annual local initiative, The Eats hosted by Jehovah Jirah Orphanage Centre in Soshanguve Block GG on the 4th of May.

The event is hosted to raise funds for the orphanage centre. They depend on these socials to gain capital as they lack sponsors. The Centre was established by Nelly Matjeke in 2003 and currently houses 35 children under the age of 18. Her daughter, Kgomotso Thebe is the co founder of The eats.

The place was overcrowded as community members and people from far came in large numbers to support this initiative. The people indulged in delicious food like bunny chows, burgers, hot dogs and chicken wings in a bid to raise funds for the orphanage.

The event was also opened to children in the community as they showed up in numbers to play and interact with children from the Centre.

This is a great way to create a network between the community and the orphanage. More and more people will get to know more about the Centre and be able to help every way possible.

These kind of social events are mainly for interaction between people and fun, fun, fun. But not this one, the eats meet and greet is meant for people to interact with the children at the Centre and contribute whichever way they can.
